stuff i learnt on PeppermintOS today..

1. modifying the hotkeys
using the file manager; navigate to ~/.config/openbox/peppermint-rc.xml
right-click, choose leafpad to edit
Ctrl-F, type: program name you wish to modify or keybindings to zoom to the section..
follow the syntax you find there
i changed terminal to terminator, as i’m happy with the key assignment
reboot

2. removing programs from the Peppermint menu[lxde] list!
[How To submitted by alkaliv2, streamline menu without deleting anything.]
Open Menu and find the name of the application you’d like to remove (Ex. Youtube)
In terminal type:
sudo leafpad /usr/share/applications/Youtube.desktop
At the bottom type: NoDisplay=true
Ctrl-S[Save], check your menu. It should be gone by the time you open the menu again.

3. as above, easier:
Alt+F2, type: gksu pcmanfm /usr/share/applications/
Right click on whatever icon you’re tired of seeing and open with leafpad
At the bottom on a new line type NoDisplay=true
Ctrl-S

4. as above, pepermint-ice:
Alt+F2, type: gksu pcmanfm ~/.local/share/applications/
Right click on whatever icon you’re tired of seeing and open with leafpad
At the bottom on a new line type: NoDisplay=true
Ctrl-S
